Reducing CO2?emissions

CO2?emissions from the use of fossil fuels are one of the main contributors to global warming. This poses a significant threat to biodiversity and human health. In fact, climate change and the type 2 diabetes pandemic share some of the same root causes, most importantly, the increasing use of motorised transportation that is reducing rates of walking, bicycling and other forms of active transportation. We want to play our part in tackling these challenges, together.

How we take action: A value chain approach to carbon emissions

We strive to reduce CO2?emissions from our activities and value chain in line with our commitment to the Triple Bottom Line business principle?and as part of our contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our position on climate change

Since 2005, we focused on reducing direct emissions related to our production. Today, we know that direct emissions only account for a small percentage of our overall carbon footprint. We have therefore extended our focus to include indirect emissions. For example, we collaborate with raw material suppliers to reduce their CO2 emissions, and we focus on reducing emissions related to purchased goods and services such as business travel and company cars.
