Use your disease expertise and clinical trial experience to help others

Are you affected by a serious chronic disease, like type 2 diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) or atherosclerosis? ?Have you recently participated in a clinical trial?

We would like to hear more about your clinical trial participation experience. We are preparing several workshops to better understand the challenges of incorporating a clinical trial into daily life so we can improve the design of clinical trials with people like you in mind.

We want to understand your challenges

Novo Nordisk engages directly with people who have serious chronic diseases and their families?through our Disease Experience Expert Panels (DEEPs). By sharing their experiences, DEEP members contribute valuable insights and practical knowledge that enable us to develop better medicines and promote better health outcomes.

Who can join the workshops?

You may be eligible to participate if:

  • You have participated in a clinical trial in the last 5 years related to your chronic disease (type 1 or type 2 diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) or atherosclerosis)
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate in English

What are you expected to share

We need you because you know best!

You can share practical knowledge, daily routines and the challenges?of living with and managing a chronic disease. Your contribution will help us to set meaningful goals for young trial participants.

Participating in the project

Once you have applied for the project (see below), we will ask you to complete a short survey. We will then select potential families to participate in the workshop and schedule a call with participants to discuss the workshop details. If you are selected, you will be invited to participate in some SKYPE workshops. You may also be invited to attend workshops in person in Copenhagen, Denmark. The agenda and the topics to be covered will be agreed with you in advance.

Your participation will be compensated, and Novo Nordisk will cover your expenses, travel and accommodation.

What will the workshop be like?

Our main goal will be to listen to your story. Our clinical trial team members may also ask you some questions to learn more about your opinions, daily challenges, hopes and future plans. For example:

- How do you ?feel about the disease?

- What are your main daily challenges related to the disease?

- What kind of support do you get now?

- What kind of support would you find useful?

Disease Experience Expert Panel
At Novo Nordisk, we believe that people affected by serious chronic diseases – including patients and their families – should no longer be seen as passive recipients of care, but as experts in their own right.

Our Disease Experience Expert Panels (DEEPs) bring together individuals that can provide disease-specific insights and advice based on their own experiences. Their input guides how we research and develop new treatments, and how we support people living with serious chronic diseases to achieve better health and a better quality of life.
